As long as I keep reading, I will be able to continuously understand my own pain, as well as my ignorance, narrow-mindedness, prejudice, and darkness, and respond accordingly. The purpose of reading is not to achieve great accomplishments, but to give you an inner strength when life brings you back to your true self and you fall into the mud. If a person does not read, then their values can only be determined by those around them. Due to the lack of other sources of information, they can only blindly imitate the people nearby, unknowingly influenced and changed by their environment, drifting with the tide, and never finding their true self. Reading is about enriching your soul; even if you don't remember the content of the books you've read, they still exist in your speech, in your temperament, and in the boundlessness of your mind and the breadth of your spirit!
