Whale is acting again: selling 14,000 ETH within 2 hours, worth over $40 million
【Blockchain Rhythms】 Yesterday (December 16th) afternoon, on-chain data tracking revealed a major move. Two whale wallets sold off a total of 14,000 ETH within 2 hours, with a total value of approximately $40.82 million.
Specifically, the first whale address sold 10,000 ETH on a DEX at a price of $2,915.5 per ETH, totaling about $29.16 million. The other address took a more traditional route—selling 4,000 ETH in batches through multiple major CEXs (including a leading platform), amounting to approximately $11.66 million.
One transaction was on an on-chain DEX, and the other on a centralized exchange, employing completely different trading methods. Such a large-scale sell-off in the ETH market is quite notable, and many are pondering the underlying logic—whether it’s just profit-taking or if they have other market outlooks.
