The repo crisis in 2019 is still fresh. At that time, interest rates jumped overnight from 2% to 10-15%. Almost all payment systems were brought to a halt.

Powell is taking early action to prevent this scenario from repeating. He is trying to avoid being forced into QE with a small intervention.

But in reality, this is just a delay tactic. The real question: how sustainable is it?

The real problem is that they're playing with fire

honestly, powell's just kicking the can down the road. the 2019 repo mess wasn't really solved, just papered over. that's not a fix, that's a patch job waiting to fail again

Basically, it's just paper-thin and will collapse sooner or later.

It's just a delay tactic; they'll have to come eventually.

I've been through it all. The 2019 Repo Crisis was the beginning of central bank manipulation of expectations. Now Powell is using the same old tricks... just delaying, but eventually the bill will come due.

Are you talking about the delay tactic... does that mean it's doomed to collapse in the end?
