According to U.S. government records and informed sources, a broad coalition of dozens of federal officials is assisting Trump in pushing for retaliatory actions against his political enemies.

The "Interagency Power Weaponization Task Force" that has been active since at least May has absorbed officials from the White House, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the CIA, the Department of Justice, the Department of Defense, the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, the IRS, and the FCC.

Trump signed an executive order on the day of his inauguration in January, directing U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to work with various federal agencies to "identify and take appropriate measures to correct the federal government's past misconduct in weaponizing law enforcement powers and intelligence community powers." Bondi and National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard announced earlier this year the establishment of special teams in their respective agencies aimed at "eradicating" what they called "the abuse of government power against Trump officials."

After Reuters sought confirmation from relevant agencies on Monday, Fox News promptly reported the existence of the task force, citing Gabbard as saying she "formed this task force." Multiple U.S. officials confirmed the existence of the interagency task force to Reuters.

A White House official, who requested to remain anonymous, stated: "These reports contain nothing new." Coleman, a spokesperson for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, declared: "The American people deserve a government that is committed to eliminating the weaponization of power, depoliticizing, and ensuring that power never again strays from serving the people."

The existence of this inter-agency task force indicates that the Trump administration's power deployment against political adversaries is more systematic and extensive than previously known. Inter-agency task forces within the government are typically responsible for policy formulation, information sharing, and coordinating joint actions.

Informed sources reveal that the mission of the task force is "essentially to besiege the 'deep state'" — a label used by Trump supporters to refer to the Obama administration, the Biden administration, and adversaries during Trump's first term.

Target locked: from former president to pandemic commander
According to informed sources, the working group discusses individuals including former FBI Director James Comey, Chief Medical Advisor on COVID-19 Anthony Fauci, and senior military officials in the U.S. who enforced the mandatory vaccination order for military personnel. The discussion also involves non-government personnel such as Hunter Biden, the son of Biden.

A senior official from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence rebutted that "there are no retaliatory actions against individuals," emphasizing that "the working group is investigating the illegal weaponization of government power based solely on factual evidence." Comey and Hunter Biden's attorney did not comment, and Fauci also did not respond immediately.

Reuters reviewed over 20 government records, confirming 39 members of the working group. Among them, 5 documents pertain to inter-agency working groups, 5 relate to the Justice Department working group announced by Bondi in February, and 9 point to a cross-departmental group focused on the January 6 Capitol riot.

Informed sources indicate that Martin, a core member of the working group and a lawyer from the Department of Justice, failed to pass the nomination for U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia due to his support for the Capitol rioters.

Reuters verification found that some members publicly opposed vaccine mandates or supported Trump's false claims about 2020 election fraud. A Department of Justice spokesperson acknowledged that Bondi and Gabbard were tasked with reviewing the so-called "weaponization of power" but did not specifically comment on the activities of the task force. Reuters was unable to confirm whether the task force has law enforcement authority.

Member Background: Gathering of Trump's Loyalists
Five working group documents indicate that at least 39 current and former officials were involved. In a document preceding a spring meeting, officials from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence expressed hope that attendees could "come to a shared understanding of the real-world impacts of the historical weaponization of power."

Insiders identified Rocco as one of the two retired Air Force officers within the task force, who had co-signed an open letter demanding the trial of military commanders implementing mandatory vaccination orders.

The list of documents is not without supporters of Trump's election fraud theory. Warner, a lawyer in the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department, claimed during the gubernatorial campaign that the CIA "stole" the results of the 2020 election. The list also involves at least four White House officials, an assistant to Vice President Vance, and seven Justice Department officials including former FBI agent Weiss—who was previously charged for participating in the Capitol riot and has now joined Bondi's Justice Department task force.

Two documents show that two CIA officials participated in the task force, but their specific roles remain a mystery. According to the law, the CIA is prohibited from taking action against U.S. citizens or within the U.S. except in specific extreme circumstances. The CIA declined to comment. Agencies involved, such as the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Internal Revenue Service, also did not respond to inquiries. The Department of Defense remained silent as well. A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson only stated that they are working with various departments to "repair the damage caused by the previous administration."

Three major focal points: the Russia investigation, the Capitol incident, and internal cleansing.
Sources say that Michael McNamara, an official from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, is the leader of the task force. This retired Marine Corps officer heads the "Director's Advisory Group" at Gabard, which has faced bipartisan inquiries due to its lack of transparency and has been asked to disclose its membership composition and funding sources.

According to informed sources, under the direction of the Trump administration, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence is using technical means to systematically search for evidence of the "deep state" within its own (and broader government) networks. They intend to expand this search to the nation's most sensitive classified intelligence systems.

Another focus of the working group is to deny the investigation conclusions regarding Russian interference in the 2016 election. Gabbard claimed in July to have found evidence that Obama directed the creation of the 2017 intelligence assessment, which was dismissed as "absurd" by an Obama spokesperson. The conclusion of that assessment was actually confirmed by a bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report and a review by CIA Director John Ratcliffe.

In addition, the working group focuses on retaliatory prosecutions of the Capitol rioters by judicial personnel. Bondi has assigned a Justice Department task force to review related prosecution cases, and some documents indicate that employees from various government departments have held special meetings on this matter (the Justice Department denies the existence of an independent group). Other discussion topics include the Epstein documents, the prosecutions of Trump advisor Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro, and the possibility of revoking security clearances for transgender officials, but none have been officially confirmed. #美联储将召开支付创新大会 #巨鲸加仓2.5亿美元BTC
