The finance ministers of South Korea and the United States will meet in the U.S. next week, possibly discussing currency swaps.

According to Jinse Finance, foreign media reports that as the negotiations on tariffs between South Korea and the United States have reached an impasse due to the implementation issues of the $350 billion investment plan in the US, South Korean Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance, Koo Yun-cheol, will visit the US on the 15th to meet with US Treasury Secretary Scott Basset. According to the South Korean Ministry of Strategy and Finance and the department responsible for trade and economic affairs, Koo Yun-cheol will attend the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting, as well as the fall annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, on the 15th. It is expected that Koo Yun-cheol will have bilateral talks with Basset to exchange views on the financial affairs of both countries. It is reported that the specific time and format of the bilateral finance ministers' meeting have yet to be finalized.
