ETHKyiv 2025 took place as part of Ukrainian Blockchain Week

From June 13 to June 15, 2025, ETHKyiv 2025 took place in Kyiv as part of Ukrainian Blockchain Week, organized by the Incrypted team. This hackathon transformed into an event of a new format: a synthesis of technology, art, and civic responsibility. This is stated in the press release shared by the project representatives with Incrypted.

More than 100 developers participated, and key figures from the global Ethereum community supported the event, including Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.

The prize fund amounted to $40,000, and the competition lasted more than 36 hours. The venue chosen was Creative State of Arsenal.

The event team highlighted the symbolic nature of the performances, which began with a moment of silence in honor of the fallen defenders. After that, the violinist and serviceman with the call sign Moisei, known for his performances in liberated Ukrainian cities, began to play. This gesture, according to the event team, served as a reminder: technology has a human face.

In addition, the audience heard an online speech by Vitalik Buterin, who later, along with the founder of Ethereum Ukraine Rostislav Bortman, announced the winners of the hackathon.

Buterin also signed a charitable art poster from the Lviv studio Vidro, which became part of a raffle in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Live performances in Kyiv by Ethereum Foundation Executive Director Tomas Stanczak and INTMAX co-founder Leona Hioki, who took the stage in a vyshyvanka, highlighted global support for Ukraine in the field of decentralized technologies.

The organizers of the event noted that ETHKyiv also became a platform for practical knowledge: Artem Rudy ( “Rudy 114” ) conducted a training on tactical medicine, adapting combat aid protocols for civilians.

According to the press release, among the more than twenty projects, the following stood out for their innovation:

The organizers summed up the results: ETHKyiv 2025 is more than just a competition. It is a cultural gesture during wartime, demonstrating how technology becomes a tool for support, creativity, and change.
