On May 28, 2025, Pi Network has the following important developments:
Ecological mainnet online circulation: The core developer of the project, "Lao Si", announced the official issuance of the first batch of 100 enterprise real-name authentication (KYB) mainnet licenses, marking that the Pi Network ecosystem has officially entered the mainnet circulation stage. The first batch of 100 KYB licenses covers scenarios such as payment settlement, cross-border trade, and supply chain finance. Enterprises can achieve on-chain transaction settlement through the Pi Network mainnet, and even connect to banking systems.
Technical Capability Improvement: According to on-chain data, the Pi mainnet TPS (transactions per second) has reached over 5000, far exceeding Bitcoin's 7 TPS and Ethereum's 30 TPS, providing technical support for large-scale commercial applications.
Significant ecological synergy effect: More than 20 apps have entered the testing phase in Pi Browser and Pi App, covering scenarios such as payment plugins, ecological malls, and NFT laboratories. The Pi payment plugin has reached cooperation intentions with over 100,000 merchants worldwide, allowing users to directly purchase goods or services with Pi coins.
However, the Pi Network also faces some negative situations. A well-known cryptocurrency investigator accused the Pi core team of a possible $8 billion internal leak incident, claiming that more than 12 million PI tokens were sold off by a wallet allegedly controlled by core developers, coinciding with a sharp drop in the PI price, causing panic in the community.
