On May 17, Republican Senator Bill Hagerty ( and Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand ), who advocate for stablecoin legislation, stated that despite recent setbacks, the U.S. legislation for regulating stablecoin issuers, the “Guidance and Establishment of the U.S. Stablecoin National Innovation Act” (GENIUS), may enter the debate and approval phase next week.
