How to become a Gate VIP?

Accepted Answer

You can become a Gate VIP by meeting any of the following upgrade criteria: 30-day trading volume, calculated as: (Spot Trading Volume (including Convert) + Futures Trading Volume × 40% + Options Trading Volume × 20% + TradFi Trading Volume × 10%), average GT holdings in the last 14 days, or VIP upgrade asset amount.

How to maintain my VIP status?

Accepted Answer

If you meet the 30-day trading volume requirement, you will be upgraded to VIP status or a higher VIP tier, and your VIP status will remain for 60 days without downgrading. After this period, your VIP tier will decrease by one tier every 15 days. Upgrades achieved through other categories do not enjoy this maintenance benefit.

Has the number of VIP tiers been adjusted?

Accepted Answer

Users whose API trading volume accounts for at least 60%, or who have reached VIP tier 15 or 16, will be automatically upgraded to advanced institutional users. Please go to the Gate Institutional page to check out benefits. The maximum VIP tier for regular users has been adjusted to 14.

How is my total asset value calculated?

Accepted Answer

The total asset value is calculated using different weighting coefficients based on the market cap ranking of the coins held in the user's account. Assets in TradFi accounts and locked airdrop rewards are excluded from the calculation.
Total Asset Value = Σ(Token USD Value × Token Coefficient). If the converted value of a single token exceeds the maximum value eligible for VIP upgrade, it will be capped at that limit.
Example:
Suppose that User A holds GateToken (GT) worth 100,000 USD, with a token coefficient of 1, the converted value of GT is 100,000 USD.
User A also holds tokens ranked 51st–120th by market cap, worth 100,000 USD, with a token coefficient of 0.8. In this case, the converted value is 80,000 USD.
Therefore, User A's total asset value = 100,000 USD + 80,000 USD = 180,000 USD.
