Q1: Can you give us an overview of the project?

Sure. Like it says on our website at https://chickencoin.com. Chickencoin is a meme coin launched on the Ethereum blockchain and forked from the PEPE smart contract. We have dogs, cats, and even frogs, but not to many good ol’ chickens.

We’re a fork of PEPE meaning we have a total supply of 69T and the official contract is 0xD55210Bb6898C021a19de1F58d27b71f095921Ee and our official ticker is CHKN.

Q2: Who is Silo?

Silo is the Chickencoin mascot, we decided to have some fun with him and give holders the chance to see his journey as the project progresses. We launched on Easter Sunday making him hatch on that day. He is a big part of Chickencoin and its theme, we’re sure everyone will enjoy watching him grow with us.

Q3: Is it true the devs spent over $250,000 USD in airdropping $CHKN to $PEPE holders?

Yes, more. The devs wanted to do something for the community and decided to airdrop the coin as we are a fork from PEPE. Since we forked PEPE it’s only fair that we aidrop to them. Many aidrops require holders to spend gas. We did this gas free and it required zero interaction from existing pepe holders, it’s likely some still don’t even know they have it! The snapshot of holders was at block 19420069, notice the numbers.

Q4: The project says it’s fairlaunch? What makes you a fair launch project?

In addition to the airdrop that we did accounting for 40% of the supply, the devs put another 53.1% in a Uniswap pool for the community. There’s a 6.9% founders allocation which is in a 6 signer multi-sig wallet.

Q5: Has the project done any burns?

We get asked about burns a lot. Not many will have noticed this but the devs actually burned the initial uniswap tokens by sending them to the Chickencoin contract which was renounced. We essentially burned $250k USD by doing this.

Q6: What can you tell us about the team?

The team is anonymous so I can’t share any details on them specifically. I will say though that they did something unprecedented with the gas free airdrop and burning the uniswap tokens. They love memes and have an obsession with numbers which some of you may have noticed, they are active and put a big emphasis on community. We’ve had some big announcements and have been focusing on partnerships with places such as yourself. Security is also important, that’s why we completed a Certik audit as a priority, you can find it at https://skynet.certik.com/projects/chickencoin. They didn’t design for a fast launch and craze tactics like how other chains are doing it at the moment (no hate!). CHKN aims to be a fun long term experiment for memes and adventurous activities.

Q7: What advice would you personally give our community and yours?

I’m a big believer in the community contributing to a project. While marketing is great and the team definitely has a role to play, I think it’s important for the community to get involved, especially in a meme project. I regularly encourage our community to create, share, and post memes. This also includes being active on Twitter (X) and getting to know each other. We’re a memecoin, we’re here for fun, get to know each other and have some fun with it while getting involved.

Q8: What’s something you were taught while being involved with the launch of Chickencoin?

I’ve been involved in various projects for a long time so I’ve seen quite a bit. What I did notice though with Chickencoin while not unique to us is that there was an unprecedented number of scams posted on Twitter (X) with fake airdrops, fake Telegram groups, and other sophisticated scams targeting users. This isn’t unique to us and won’t stop with us. I’d advise the community and the crypto community in general to stay vigilant regardless of the project you’re following, never share your seed phrase, never connect your wallet to unknown dapps, and always double check the Twitter (X), Telegram, or other handle for where you’re interacting. Stay safe and stay vigilant.
