Trump’s attitude toward the prediction that “Maduro will be arrested” and the involvement of U.S. military personnel appears to be shifting, with some allies supporting a pardon for him.
The U.S. Department of Justice has charged U.S. special forces soldier Gannon Ken Van Dyke, accusing him of illegally profiting more than $400,000 by using confidential intelligence to make predictions on the market platform Polymarket about a U.S. raid on Venezuela.
According to the latest disclosure from CNN, Trump appears to have changed his stance on the matter. After learning that the soldier had bet on Maduro’s downfall, he immediately likened it to baseball legend Rose (Pete Rose) predicting that his team would win, and his response came across as dismissive. Trump said, “It’s like Rose predicting his team will win. If he predicted he’d lose, that would be bad, but if he predicted his team would win, I will investigate this.”
In addition, given Trump’s support for Rose, at least several of Trump’s allies have said that Trump should pardon the soldier. (CNN)$ETH
