Recently, I’ve seen a bunch of projects package PFPs + membership rights + brand stories together, basically trying to turn "buying an avatar" into "joining a club." I don’t mind either, after all, communities need symbols and a sense of belonging, but the long-term value has to be very careful: Are the rights clearly written? Can they be fulfilled? When proposing rule changes in the future, is there a brake mechanism? Otherwise, it’s just attention spikes. Looking back, the staking/sharing security model being criticized as a "copycat" actually has the same problem: packaging complex risks into simple narratives. It’s lively at the front, but who will backstop it later? Anyway, when I see membership NFTs now, I first check the original text, vault, and governance permissions. The emotions can be high, but voting and spending money are not.
