Brazil blocks Kalshi and Polymarket in ban affecting 28 platforms
Brazil blocked Kalshi, Polymarket and other operators under a ban that Finance Minister Dario Durigan said covered 28 platforms. A Banco Central do Brasil resolution said contracts tied to sports, politics, entertainment and other non-economic events violate local derivatives rules and raise investor protection and market integrity concerns. Durigan said the move is part of a broader effort to protect Brazilians’ savings amid a rise in online gambling.
