According to Polish media Onet, Zondacrypto CEO Przemysław Kral has traveled to Israel because, having Israeli citizenship, he may be difficult to be extradited back to Poland. The report says that Zondacrypto is on the brink of bankruptcy, and that approximately 99% of the exchange’s Bitcoin reserves are suspected to have disappeared. The company claims that about 4,500 BTC private keys are held by founder Sylwester Suszek, but he has been missing since 2022, and prosecutors tend to believe he has been killed. The platform has stopped withdrawals, management has been dissolved, and the Polish authorities have launched criminal and economic investigations. The actual losses may be far higher than the official estimate of about $100 million (about 350 million Polish zloty).
