Hot topics have been cycling so fast lately. Yesterday we were still arguing about whether privacy coins and mixers “cross the line,” and today we’ve switched to a new storyline and kept fighting. To be blunt, attention is the sickle’s handle—once you let your emotions drive, you’re very likely to keep paying tuition over and over in high-volatility swings.

The reason I can stay a bit calmer is actually pretty down-to-earth: for anything I want to pursue, I first toss it into a script to run a simulation of “wait 24 hours before acting,” and then I also scan the on-chain permissions and the upgradability part (administrator keys, upgrade openings, blacklists, and so on). Most of the hype has passed by that day, so I don’t want to buy anymore; for the ones I still want to touch, at least I’m not being pulled along by FOMO.

In any case, I’d rather miss out now than spend every day turning in circles because of the hot topics—it’s exhausting.
