Last week, some interesting trends were observed on BSE and NSE. There was significant selling pressure from DIIs, with a net sale of approximately 4,721 crore rupees. In contrast, FII/FPI saw modest buying, which was close to 683 crore.

Looking into the details, DIIs made total purchases of 17,513 crore, but sales of 22,235 crore, resulting in a negative trend. FII/FPI recorded purchases of 16,034 crore and sales of 15,351 crore.

Overall, the net impact of institutional activity on BSE and other exchanges remained negative—about a net sale of 4,038 crore. In this situation, it is essential to understand DII strategy and FII behavior to gauge which direction the market may move in the coming days.
