I just saw an interesting point that Vitalik recently raised about the future of development on Ethereum. Basically, he's saying that we need to be bolder and more creative in the application layer, without compromising what makes the base network strong.

What caught my attention is that he emphasizes maintaining the fundamental pillars on layer 1: censorship resistance, open source, privacy, and security. That doesn't change. But in the application layer, there's plenty of room to experiment and innovate in ways we hadn't even considered before.

He talks a lot about how artificial intelligence could transform things like wallets and user experience. And he also touches on a topic that many ignore: we need to rethink how we structure privacy on layer 2 and in DeFi applications. It's not just about copying what's already out there.

What's interesting is his call to "start from scratch" in designing the application layer. It's not about following the same patterns. Developers need to think differently, reimagine the entire architecture considering layer 2, explore new ways to do DeFi, and rethink the role of these solutions.

In reality, this opens up a lot of opportunities. If the community takes this message seriously, we could see a significant shift in how Ethereum is built over the next few years. It's worth closely watching which projects start seriously experimenting with these concepts.
