Anker Innovation’s end-side technology lineup makes a simultaneous debut: the Thus™ chip, end-side AI, and end-side embodied intelligence all appear together.

ME News Report, April 22 (UTC+8), on April 22, Anker Innovation held a technical communication conference in Shenzhen themed “Edge Intelligence: Extreme Computing Power, Meeting the Future,” officially revealing its three major technological layouts in the field of edge intelligence: Anker’s first neural network compute-in-memory (CIM) AI audio chip Thus™, edge AI large model deployment, and a three-level embodied intelligence roadmap. Anker Innovation founder and CEO Yang Meng stated at the meeting: “We return to first principles, seek the key breakthroughs in structure, explore every possible way to walk this path, and achieve ultimate innovation.” Thus™: Three years of honing a sword, a compute-in-memory chip reconstructs edge AI computing power In 2023, Anker officially launched the CIM chip development project. In the industry environment at that time, this decision was not well regarded—chip R&D involves high investment, long return cycles, and it is difficult to see tangible product results in the first two or three years. Facing skepticism, Anker persisted in its long-term approach, continued efforts, and ultimately successfully brought this chip, which embodies the vision of edge intelligence, into mass production. According to reports, the Thus™ chip is built on NOR Flash technology, natively supports 4 million parameter models, and is Anker’s first neural network compute-in-memory AI audio chip. As a representative of Anker’s edge intelligence computing power, it features a disruptive CIM architecture, breaking through the bottleneck of traditional computing paradigms, and thoroughly solving the problem of frequent data transfer between processor and memory under the von Neumann architecture. It re-releases over 90% of the energy previously consumed for effective computation, achieving a dual leap in computing power and energy efficiency at the hardware level. In internal laboratory tests, Thus™ achieved up to 150 times peak AI computing power improvement over traditional Bluetooth earphone chips, enabling complete neural networks to run independently on edge devices, and deploying trillion-parameter models on earphones. The chip will soon debut on Anker’s flagship earphones, capable of accurately filtering noise and preserving clear human voices in noisy environments around 100dB, bringing a new audio intelligent experience. Thus™ is not only an innovative chip but also part of Anker’s three-year chip technology platform plan. The first-generation product is based on joint R&D, and the development of the next-generation fully self-developed chip has now officially started. The name Thus™ is derived from “Thus have I heard,” implying a return to the essence of computation. Anker will use Thus™ as a technological fulcrum to continue deepening in the field of edge AI chips, constantly building foundational hardware barriers, and providing more powerful, efficient, and precise computing support for edge intelligent products. Edge AI: Promoting comprehensive coverage of AI capabilities in home intelligent scenarios As reliance on cloud computing for smart devices deepens, privacy protection, response latency, and offline reliability have become common industry challenges. In response, while continuing to drive breakthroughs in chip computing power, Anker is simultaneously self-developing large edge AI models for home scenarios, reducing over-dependence on the cloud from the source. Relying on its long-term deep cultivation and brand accumulation in North America through the eufy brand, Anker has provided professional security services to over 16 million households. Anker believes that future homes should be composed of multiple closed-loop smart devices connected via computing power cards, upgraded into super devices, with capabilities sharing, data sharing, and event collaboration. Anker will build the underlying infrastructure for the entire “True Intelligence” ecosystem through an intelligent operating system. By system integration and coordination, capabilities, data, and events of different devices will be connected, turning cameras, microphones, voice, control, positioning, and inference into independent, reusable, and remotely callable atomic services registered on the system bus. Relying on bus scheduling and intelligent orchestration, the entire “perception-planning-execution” process will be completed, forming programmable system-level collaboration, and redefining the next-generation home intelligent experience that is efficient, safe, and stable. Embodied intelligence: A three-stage evolution roadmap to create a future full-scene home intelligent ecosystem Based on chip and edge AI technology foundations, Anker showcased its embodied intelligence evolution roadmap at this communication conference, drawing on years of experience in smart home, security, and cleaning fields to clearly outline the development path of home robots from basic execution to complex operations. Anker divides the development of home robots into three forms: first, planar mobility robots like vacuum cleaners and smart lawnmowers, which are already mature and fully deployed; second, three-dimensional mobility robots centered on security robot dogs, capable of flexible patrols and safety protection across the entire house, progressing as planned; third, humanoid robots leading the three-dimensional operation stage, currently in cutting-edge R&D. Anker’s layout of embodied intelligence stems from the real needs accumulated in millions of home service scenarios. Taking security robot dogs as an example, addressing the industry pain point of “visual unprotected” in home security, filling the gaps in proactive inspection and full-area guarding, has become the core starting point for product development. To ensure the implementation of this roadmap, Anker has built a self-developed technical system: including long-life silent joint modules, a three-layer cognitive architecture mimicking the human brain, high-efficiency AI data factories, and millisecond-level full-body communication centers, solidifying core robot barriers with hardcore underlying technology. Looking ahead, Anker proposes a “1+X+N” full-scene home intelligent architecture: centered on the home super brain, coordinating humanoid robots, robot dogs, and other dedicated robots, as well as all categories of intelligent adaptive devices, to create a next-generation home ecosystem with coordinated interaction and full-domain intelligence.
