BREAKING: U.S. debt has now crossed $39 trillion, with interest costs becoming one of Washington’s fastest-growing expenses.


The government is on pace to spend over $1T a year just servicing the debt, more than many major federal programs.
That’s roughly $6.9 billion in new debt every day.
