#TernusNamedAppleCEO Historic Leadership Change at Apple
New CEO John Ternus
Yesterday, Apple officially announced: Tim Cook is stepping down as CEO after 15 years, effective September 1, 2026, and will continue on the board as Executive Chairman. The new CEO is John Ternus, a 25-year veteran of Hardware Engineering.
Ternus is a hardware engineer who trained under Steve Jobs and Tim Cook. He is the name behind Apple's most iconic products, from the iPhone and Mac to AirPods and Vision Pro. He has recently led Apple to record Mac sales, redefined the iPhone 17 series (especially the ultra-thin iPhone Air), and pushed product durability and sustainability to new heights through material innovations.
During Cook's tenure, Apple's market value increased from $350 billion to $4 trillion, and its annual revenue nearly quadrupled. Now the question is:
With a hardware-focused CEO and a strong product vision, can Apple write its next 3T growth story in the AI age and on the path to new devices?
Ternus's combination of "engineering mindset + innovative spirit + honest leadership" could, according to many analysts, bring a "determined and product-centric" approach similar to the Jobs era. Expedition is expected, particularly in Apple Silicon, AI integration, and new form factors (foldable devices, health technologies).
This transition is a critical turning point for Apple investors and the tech ecosystem. With Cook's operational genius and Ternus's hardware vision, it's possible for the company to reach the next level.
Do you think Ternus can take Apple to new heights? Or is it a matter of great uncertainty?
