Recently playing with a pixel-style small protocol, I initially wanted to take a screenshot to show off "Confirmed on the chain," but the same transaction on my browser kept spinning, while my friend's side already showed success... I only then realized: what I see as "on the chain" is actually the version provided by the node/RPC/indexer. Whoever is slower, whoever glitches, or who caches can all make you feel like time and space are out of sync. To put it simply, it's not that the chain isn't real; it's just that the person you're asking responds slowly.
By the way, these past couple of days, there’s been a heated debate over privacy coins, mixing, and regulatory boundaries. Some people focus on "on-chain transparency" as the truth, but in reality, even "transparency" itself can be delayed, pages can be missing, or data can be filtered... I don’t take sides; I just get used to checking multiple sources and trading with less emotion. Anyway, I don’t need to be understood; I just don’t want a lagging RPC to make me think I’ve lost everything.
