These past couple of days I’ve been wanting to “log out” again a bit—what with wallet pop-ups, cross-chain bridges, and all sorts of signatures, it makes my scalp tingle; I even almost uninstalled a certain on-chain social app directly… But then I figured I still have to use it. Anyway, once the little bit of gas on the mainnet gets expensive, people like me, who only tinker with small amounts, can only hide out on L2. My pretty simple compromise is this: all my everyday interactions go on L2, so the experience is smoother; if I really need to do something big—something I’m going to set aside for the long term—then I go back to the mainnet and handle it in one shot. I’d rather wait a little longer for confirmations than get “educated” by fees in the middle of the night. Lately, social mining and fan tokens have been all the rage again, and they say “attention is mining.” I hear that and it already feels kind of exhausting—because attention is clearly the most expensive gas. Better to make the path simpler first; don’t treat yourself like a mining rig.
