ME News Report, April 19 (UTC+8), at the “Blockchain World, Future Without Borders” frontier technology forum, Hong Kong Legislative Council member (Technology Innovation Sector) Chiu Tak-keun delivered a speech. He clearly stated that Hong Kong has surpassed mere “technological racing” and is seizing the global innovation and technology governance high ground through top-level design.

Councilor Chiu emphasized that Hong Kong’s pioneering efforts in Web3 and RWA (Real World Assets) regulation are primarily to provide “legal certainty” for global innovation and technology forces. As the regulatory framework for stablecoins and virtual asset licensing continues to improve, starting a business in Hong Kong is not only about technological implementation but also about obtaining a “passport facing the world.”

Regarding future deployment, Councilor Chiu called on the industry to leverage Hong Kong’s top scientific research resources to bridge the final hundred meters from “the laboratory to the Central trading desk,” accelerating the integration of AI productivity and Web3 value protocols. He reiterated that Hong Kong will utilize its unique gene of “backing the motherland and connecting to the world” to transform from a participant in global innovation and technology into a rule-maker.
