Leadership Transition at Freightos: New Interim CEO Takes Helm as Founder Pursues Ventures
Freightos Limited (CRGO) witnessed a significant management reshuffle on Wednesday, as the company announced the departure of its founding Chief Executive Officer Zvi Schreiber. The executive has opted to leave his position to explore fresh entrepreneurial opportunities outside the organization. Following this transition, Pablo Pinillos, currently serving as the company’s Chief Financial Officer, will step into the role of interim CEO effective immediately.
The Board of Directors has wasted no time in response to the leadership change, launching a formal recruitment process to identify and onboard a permanent Chief Executive Officer. This strategic move reflects the company’s commitment to continuity and measured growth during the transition period.
Despite the organizational shift, Schreiber has expressed his continued commitment to the company’s vision. “I’m honored to remain engaged with Freightos in a board capacity, and I look forward with genuine enthusiasm to witnessing how our talented leadership team propels the company forward,” he stated in his remarks. His involvement as a board member suggests a collaborative handover rather than a complete disengagement.
Market sentiment around the announcement appears cautious. CRGO shares are currently trading at $2.98 on the Nasdaq, reflecting a decline of 2.48 percent. The stock movement indicates investor attention to the management transition, though trading volumes and broader market conditions will ultimately shape the longer-term sentiment.
The appointment of Pablo Pinillos as interim leader brings continuity to the executive suite, given his financial expertise and existing familiarity with company operations. His temporary tenure is expected to provide stability while the board completes its search for a permanent executive leader.
