1.How to Copy Trades?
The Complete Copy Process:
Go to the Copy Trading page - select a trader - sign the copier agreement - set copying parameters - start copying
Note 1: A copy agreement must be signed before your first copy.
Note 2: The actual income of the copier may be inconsistent with that of the lead trader. For details, please refer to [Copier] FAQ.
Detailed Copying Steps:
Steps are the same for WEB and APP.
1.Enter the Copy Trading page, and screen out excellent traders.
2.Select trader you want to follow, click on the trader’s avatar to enter his page, and check the trader’s data.
3.A copy agreement must be signed before your first copy. So please agree to and sign the agreement.
2. Select Copying Mode
1.How Many Copying Modes Are There on Gate Copy Trading?
Simple Copying Mode
What is Copying Mode?
The copier completely follows the trader in his leverage, cross margin/isolated margin mode, and selects all the futures the trader leads. Then, follow the trader to open/add a position or close/reduce a position in accordance with the trader’s total fund, which will make the copier consistent with the trader in ROI.
Notes in Simple Copying Mode
Under simple copying mode, the copier does not need to set the trading leverage. It will completely copy the leverage used by the trader. As a result, the copier should be aware of the high risk in trading. Please refer to Key Updates of Copy Trading
Advanced Copying Mode
The advanced copying mode enables users to customize the parameters such as leverage according to personal preferences.
Notes:
Basic copying parameters: This is mandatory. If the user does not set the customized parameters of the future separately, all the copies will be carried out according to the basic copying parameters.
Customized copying parameters: The user can select the futures to be copied. Users can set customized copying parameters for different futures. Then, the futures with customized copying parameters can be executed according to customized parameters, and the rest of the futures will be executed according to the basic copying parameters.
2. How to Select the Right Copying Mode?
There are risks in copying, so users should select the right copying mode based on their funds and interests. New copiers should select the copying mode carefully. The platform suggests that copiers select “simple copying mode” to get a similar ROI to the trader and copy the trader’s positions!
3.Transfer Copying Profits Timely
To further protect copiers’ interests, Gate Copy Trading has implemented a new feature that allows transfer of copying profits. Currently, Gate Copy Trading only supports the transfer on WEB.
How to Transfer?
WEB:
Enter “My Copy Trading” - choose “Copying Mode” - click on “My Performance” - click on “Lead Traders You Are Following”. You can transfer profits from profitable orders, by clicking on “Adjust the Amount” associated with the respective order.
Note: Please set a reasonable transfer amount according to the actual performance of the order and ensure that the amount you wish to transfer does not exceed the total profit generated by the order.
APP:
Enter “My Copy Trading” - choose “Copy” - click on “Lead Trader” - click on “Current”. You can transfer profits from copying profitable orders, by clicking “Adjust” associated with the respective order.
When to Transfer?
Copiers can initiate a transfer when they foresee high risks of profit losses with the order and want to secure part of the profits already gained. The generated profit is ready for transfer anytime, enabling copiers flexibility to lock in profits and mitigate potential losses.
Traders should carefully decide on the transfer amount. Excessive withdrawal of profits should be avoided, as depleted capital reduces risk resilience and increases the risk of liquidation.
4. Change Copying Parameters & Funds Timely
After copying, the copier is suggested to check copying data now and then. The copier is also suggested to change copying parameters and funds timely to gain profits. For details, please refer to Key Updates of Copy Trading.
