The official strongly urges users that this is only a visual update of the token name and Logo, and that users’ assets and contracts are completely unaffected. The Open Network (TON) ecosystem is about to undergo a major branding change. According to the latest announcement posted today by the official X account of TON Blockchain (@ton_blockchain), the token renaming proposal put forward by Telegram has been approved on the TON Vote platform with an overwhelming support rate of 81.22%.

With this proposal approved, TON’s native token “Toncoin” will be officially renamed to “Gram,” and the trading code will change from “TON” to “GRAM.” This historic branding update is expected to take effect at 12:00 (UTC) on June 15, 2026 (8:00 PM Taiwan time that same evening).

To avoid market panic and confusion, the official repeatedly emphasized in the announcement that this is a “purely cosmetic rebrand” with “zero technical impact.” The name of the blockchain network will remain “The Open Network (TON),” and the official X account will continue to use the name “TON Blockchain.”

The official clearly states that users do not need to take any action at all. There is no token burn, no cross-chain bridging, no migration, and no claim process. The balances in users’ wallets will automatically correspond one-to-one (10 TON = 10 GRAM), including balances in smart contracts, NFTs, decentralized finance (DeFi) positions, staking, and centralized exchanges (CEX), all of which are unaffected.

At the same time, the official issued a strong warning: “Any request asking you to ‘migrate TON to GRAM’ or ‘claim GRAM’ is 100% a scam!” During the three-month transition period, major exchanges and platforms will label the token in the format “Gram (prev. Toncoin)” to help users adapt to the new name.
