Humanity releases event update: involving Ethereum and BSC dual chains, with the confirmed stolen amount exceeding $36 million.

Deep Tide TechFlow News, June 9th, Humanity released an event update stating that its H tokens were subjected to coordinated attacks on the evening of June 8th on Ethereum and BSC, with approximately 36 million USD worth of tokens stolen and sold across both chains. The project disclosed that the attack originated from a compromised employee laptop, leading to the leakage of multiple owner keys for the Gnosis Safe controlling the Hyperlane bridge ProxyAdmin.

On the Ethereum side, the attacker gained ownership of ProxyAdmin and upgraded the contract to a malicious implementation, transferring out about 141.2 million H tokens in a single transaction; on the BSC side, after controlling ProxyAdmin, the attacker deployed a malicious implementation with infinite minting capabilities, minting an additional 200 million H tokens in two transactions and continuously selling them. Humanity has suspended related cross-chain bridge deposits and withdrawals and is working with exchanges and law enforcement to investigate and recover some of the funds.
