In 2025, Guangdong's marine gross domestic product exceeds 2 trillion yuan, leading the country for 31 consecutive years.
Guangdong Province has released the Marine Economy Statistical Bulletin. The data shows that in 2025, Guangdong’s total marine economic output value was 2.04 trillion yuan, up 4.4% year-on-year in real terms. It accounted for 18.6% of the country’s total marine economic output value and has remained ranked first nationwide for 31 consecutive years.
Fifteen major marine industries achieved added value of 830.38 billion yuan. Among them, 9 industries are in the top 3 nationwide. The three industries of seawater desalination and comprehensive utilization, marine transportation, and marine tourism ranked first nationwide.
Five trillion-yuan- and hundred-billion-yuan-scale industry clusters have been formed, including marine oil and gas chemicals, marine fisheries, offshore wind power, marine engineering equipment, and marine tourism. (CCTV News)
