Golden Finance reports that on June 9th, according to Crypto Economy News, Coinbse's x402 protocol went live on Injective, enabling AI agents to autonomously pay for service fees. The protocol allows artificial intelligence agents to pay API call fees in real-time without the need for accounts, subscriptions, or any human intervention.
The system utilizes the long-reserved HTTP 402 status code ("Payment Required") to create a seamless payment process, which can be completed with just one HTTP interaction, eliminating friction and reducing operational complexity. Injective was chosen for implementation because it features single-block settlement, deterministic finality, and approximately 650 milliseconds of latency, allowing the agent to reliably complete payments before making the next decision.
