The U.S. has listed Alibaba, BYD, and others on the "military-related" list; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Urges the U.S. to stop unjustified suppression of Chinese companies

On June 9th, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Jian, presided over a routine press conference. An AFP reporter asked whether China has any comments on the U.S. listing several Chinese companies, including Alibaba and BYD, on what is called a "military-related" enterprise list. Lin Jian stated that China has always firmly opposed the U.S. overgeneralizing the concept of national security, and discriminately listing various names on different lists, unjustly suppressing Chinese companies. We urge the U.S. to correct its wrong practices and stop unjustified suppression of Chinese enterprises. China will take necessary measures to firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies. (The Paper)
