Golden Finance reports that on June 9th, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that Saif Faiq has pleaded guilty to the charge of "conspiracy to interfere with business activities by robbery," with a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Sentencing will take place on August 28th. Faiq and his brother Adam Iza orchestrated a kidnapping and extortion case targeting wealthy parents involved in cryptocurrency. They recruited six men from Florida, who carried out a carjacking operation against a Lamborghini Urus in Danbury, Connecticut, in 2024. The victims were Sushil and Radhika Chetal; their son Veer Chetal had previously stolen approximately 4,100 bitcoins through social engineering scams and was targeted by Faiq’s group while flaunting wealth at a Miami nightclub. The six Florida men had previously pleaded guilty to charges related to carjacking and kidnapping. Faiq was arrested on November 12, 2025, and is currently in custody.
