Why not involve relatives and friends in investing?

Most people think making money is:
10k, 100k, 300k, 1M steadily increasing
But real investing is:
30k, -200k, -500k, 50k, 300k with ups and downs, full of uncertainty
Who to bring along, when the drawdown hits -200,000, or even -500,000,
