Objectively look at this world—it isn’t as we see it. We don’t have perfect choices; we can only choose the best option in comparison.
A few months ago, there was a dispute between Anthropic and OpenAI. The former mocked the latter for using ads to prepare a foothold for profitability. Objectively speaking, Anthropic is mainly for B2B, while OpenAI is mainly for B2C; ads only exist when you’re targeting the general public. From a B2B position, mocking a B2C company for profiting through ads is inherently immoral—just like a fish in the water mocking an eagle in the sky for flying using its wings.
Dario really doesn’t think that’s any more noble…
It’s all about standing on your own side and accusing the other’s shortcomings. A fish mocks an eagle for not swimming… an eagle mocks a fish for not flying. Then another troublemaker shows up—“the enemy of my enemy is my friend”… and suddenly there’s nothing left of principles or bottom lines. This is reality.
In the market, the only organization that might be able to achieve universal UBI for everyone is the OpenAI Foundation. The rest have no obligation to do these things; most are just full of talk.
As for the investment ecosystem around Altman, I’m still optimistic. Old Ma may indeed be successful, but after all, no one is perfect. People at the very top being a bit more purposeful really isn’t a big deal… they’re more utilitarian than we are. Looking back, the money Old Ma spent buying Twitter was really worth it… otherwise, SpaceX’s valuation wouldn’t be up to around a trillion. This world is basically a meme.
Next, once AI reaches a certain stage, it should be WLD’s moment in the spotlight. Whether the number of people in the ecosystem can quickly break through from 100 million to 300 million is the key factor in whether WLD can stay alive. There is still risk: if it can’t quickly break through 100 million, the ecosystem barriers will disappear in about three years.
Don’t have too much sentiment. In their eyes, it’s all calculations. Don’t do/use leverage contracts because of them—just earn steadily, and spend the rest of your life happily.
If something like BCH, ZEC, crashes someday, could there be a new coin to replace these top players?
