Trump Defends Potential Iran Deal, Says “I Don’t Make Bad Deals”

President Donald Trump pushed back against criticism surrounding ongoing Iran negotiations, saying any agreement reached under his administration would be “the exact opposite” of the Obama era nuclear deal.

Trump said:
• The deal is not fully negotiated yet
• Critics “don’t know what it is”
• His administration will not allow Iran a path to nuclear weapons
• He believes previous administrations failed to solve the issue properly

Trump also claimed the Obama era agreement gave Iran “massive amounts of cash” and created a pathway toward nuclear capability something he says his deal would prevent entirely.

Washington appears to be moving toward a tougher, security focused framework with Iran, one Trump argues would combine diplomacy with stricter nuclear enforcement
