ME News message: On May 15 (UTC+8), the digital bank Revolut announced that its trading division, Revolut Trading Ltd, has received an expanded authorization approved by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), allowing it to launch more comprehensive investment and wealth management services in the UK market. According to the latest approved Variation of Permissions (VoP) license, Revolut can now manage client investment portfolios and participate in certain trades as the principal. This means the platform can, in the future, offer leveraged investment products, professionally managed investment portfolios, and tailored wealth management services for high-net-worth users, with the relevant features integrated into its mobile app alongside everyday banking and payment tools. It is reported that Revolut plans to further introduce AI-driven portfolio recommendation tools as it continues its transition into a “one-stop financial platform.” Earlier this year, Revolut officially obtained a full banking license in the UK. Analysts believe the FCA’s approval this time demonstrates that it has further improved its maturity as a regulated financial institution, and also reflects how fintech firms are accelerating competition with traditional banks and wealth management institutions.
