🐋 WHALE WATCH: The White House has greenlit a $9 billion investment to accelerate AI integration within U.S. spy agencies. According to a report by The New York Times this funding is designed to help agencies like the CIA and NSA bridge a growing gap in advanced semiconductor chips.

Because classified operations are kept on entirely isolated networks for security reasons these agencies havent been able to easily leverage the massive commercial AI data centers used by the public. The new $9 billion push aims to upgrade their secure infrastructure specifically to handle next generation hardware including NVIDIAs specialized Blackwell chips and safely deploy frontier AI models like Anthropics new Mythos system.
While Congress still needs to formally approve the full funding package the administration is reportedly reallocating $800 million immediately to jumpstart the expansion of these secure computing clusters.
