Just now, I looked at on-chain data and it “lagged” again—I almost thought my internet was acting up… Later, I figured it was probably the indexer/Subgraph or the RPC getting rate-limited: when you hit refresh, there’s someone behind the scenes organizing a pile of raw chain logs into a table you can actually read. If it’s not fast enough, you’ll see blank sections, delays, or even direct errors. Especially for someone like me who watches high-volatility pools—missing an update by 3 seconds can send me into a spiral (I really only waited 7 seconds before I panicked).
Also, recently our group has been tearing itself apart arguing about privacy coins and the compliance boundaries of mixing—so I think this “lag” in the data is also a realistic reminder: if you want to see things in finer detail and faster, someone has to carry the pressure/bear the risk.
Anyway, my current approach is: if you notice the data stuttering/lagging, don’t rush. First, take a couple more looks at the block explorer to double-check—don’t let yourself get tricked by the delay into chasing the market price.
