National Data Bureau: Will incorporate promoting the development of the lexical economy into the work system
Mars Finance News — On May 23, the Party Secretary and Director of the National Data Bureau, Liu Liehong, presided over a symposium on the word element economy on the 22nd. At the meeting, representatives from enterprises including Alibaba Cloud, Tencent, Mysterious Base (Moon’s Dark Side), Huitian Ruisheng, and China International Capital Corporation offered opinions and suggestions on “promoting the healthy and sustainable development of the word element economy and fully unlocking the value of data elements.” Xia Bing, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the National Data Bureau, attended the meeting.
A word element is the smallest computational unit used by large models to process all information such as text, code, images, audio, and video. It is becoming a unit of measurement, a settlement unit, and a statistical unit for AI services. The National Data Bureau will incorporate efforts to develop the word element economy into its work framework, continuously conduct follow-up research and absorb recommendations from all sectors of society, focusing on building high-quality industry data sets and constructing a nationwide integrated computing power network, and will further advance reforms to promote market-oriented allocation of data elements to drive high-quality development of the word element economy.
