CryptoWorld News reports that, according to Guadeloupe La 1ère, the Investigative Chamber of the Court of Appeal of Basse-Terre, France, has reviewed the extradition case of 22-year-old American John Daghita. Daghita is accused by U.S. authorities of allegedly stealing $46 million in cryptocurrency belonging to the U.S. federal government, and was jointly arrested by the French GIGN and FBI in Saint Martin in early March, with cash, USB drives, and digital asset wallets seized on site. His lawyer states that Daghita has accepted the principle of extradition, and the court will make a decision on May 28. Currently, Daghita remains detained at Basse-Terre detention center, and his lawyer plans to apply for his release. The related charges are still pending further judicial proceedings.
