Every time I do cross-chain transactions, I have to take a deep breath first... Especially now that everyone is comparing RWA, US bond yields, and on-chain yield products all together, the more I look, the more I feel that the word "yield" behind it all is just a trust chain. Concepts like IBC and message passing sound very elegant, but when it comes down to "who do you trust for a single cross-chain," I break it into several parts: whether the source chain / destination chain itself is stable, whether the light client / verification logic is what you think it is, whether relayers will go offline or act maliciously, whether there are strange loopholes in channel / permission configurations, plus whether upgrade permissions and multi-signatures can change rules at any time. Honestly, I’d rather wait for a few more confirmations, check more historical incidents, than to hand myself over to a bunch of invisible components just to save two minutes. Anyway, that’s just how I am—slower but able to sleep peacefully.
