According to FinanceFeeds, Marcin Pióro, founder of the Polish online foreign exchange platform Cinkciarz pl, has been detained in Chicago, United States, and may subsequently face extradition to Poland. Polish prosecutors said the case involves client losses of about $50 million, and that more than 5,000 victims have been confirmed. Pióro and several other executives were previously charged with crimes including fraud and money laundering; if the charges are upheld, Pióro could face up to 25 years in prison.
