Recently, I came across a bunch of "social mining/points/identity" tasks, basically turning your time into little receipts, and finally exchanging them for a badge to hang on your avatar. I also get the itch to click a few times, but when I actually do it, it’s pretty funny and frustrating: clearly, I’m here to play with blockchain, but it feels like clocking in at work, and I have to pretend I love the community.

What’s even more ridiculous is that before and after a major public chain upgrade/maintenance, everyone is guessing whether the project will migrate, with some in the group shouting "Quick, re-verify your identity," while others say "Maybe wait and see, don’t waste effort"... Anyway, the anxiety is ours, but the points belong to others. My approach is simple: only use protocols I already know how to use, confirm once if possible, and don’t keep signing in and out. Don’t spend real time just for a virtual badge, and if the tea cools down, I’ll have to reheat it myself.
