Lately, I've seen a bunch of people staring at large on-chain transfers and hot/cold wallet movements on exchanges, shouting "Smart money is coming/going," and I'm getting a bit overwhelmed... To put it simply, don't be scared by the terminology, just focus on one main thread: how exactly is a transaction "written in" and irreversible.
Data availability means: whether the ledger content you see is truly public and whether everyone can verify it; ordering means: who was first and who was later, the little tricks in between (you know what I mean); finality means: whether this transaction is truly settled and confirmed, or if you think it's done but it gets rolled back, which can really mess with your mindset.
My partner even teased me: "Aren't you into the chain? Why are you obsessively watching others' transfer screenshots every day?"... Alright, I'll stop acting like a detective for now, focus more on confirmation and rollback risks, and don’t just watch new protocols for fun. Anyway, I often make mistakes with quick hands, so reviewing is just paying tuition.
