Rubio: Progress in US-Iran negotiations, but no guarantee the agreement will be finalized
BlockBeats News. May 22, according to Xinhua News Agency, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio said on the 21st that negotiations between the United States and Iran have made some progress, but he cannot guarantee that an agreement will definitely be reached. He also said that if a “good agreement” cannot be reached, “everyone is clear” on what other options the United States has.

Rubio traveled from Miami, Florida, to Sweden on the day to attend the NATO foreign ministers’ meeting. Speaking to the media at the airport, he said that President Trump’s top priority is to reach a “good agreement,” and the U.S. “will do everything possible to achieve this goal,” adding that “however, the president has also clearly stated that if a good agreement cannot be reached, he has other alternative plans.”

Rubio said that although some positive signs have emerged, he does not want to come across as overly optimistic. “So, let’s see what happens over the next few days.”
