Today I went out in the rain + got stuck in traffic, and the navigation even lagged for a moment. Then I suddenly thought of that feeling from last night when I was checking on-chain data—like “Hey, why did it stop?” … In many cases, it’s not that the chain has stopped; it’s that the indexer/Subgraph on your route is scrambling to catch up, or your RPC is being rate-limited—like a café that’s packed, so they make you queue first. The result is that the K线 is still moving, but your balance, trades, and LP position updates are delayed by half a beat, and it makes you feel uneasy.
Recently, people have been arguing pretty loudly about Layer2 comparing TPS, fees, and subsidies—but let’s be real: before you open the page, don’t jump to conclusions. If the data source jitters, emotions are easy to get swept along. I’ve gotten into the habit of running two RPCs or keeping a backup panel, and I don’t dare to load positions too heavily. If it stutters, I treat it like a red light—wait a bit before taking action. After all, impulsiveness is the most expensive.
