Recently, I truly experienced what loss aversion is... The same +10% and -10%, the former at most makes me secretly happy by flipping a few more times at the floor price, while the latter immediately pulls me from "appreciating art" back to the self-blame mode of "Am I stupid?", lying in bed at night still replaying every trade in my mind. Honestly, unrealized losses feel like a reminder "You made a mistake," while unrealized gains seem like a lucky find, not worth taking seriously.
What's more annoying is that set of explanations outside: "ETF capital flow movement = how crypto should move," "A change in US stock risk appetite = your position should change accordingly," after seeing it so many times, it feels like the whole world is just looking for reasons for my unrealized losses... but no matter how many reasons there are, they don't stop my insomnia. Anyway, I now have a simple method: I treat complexity as an enemy, watch less macro drama, focus on the few charts and communities I really like, and take drops as paying tuition, for now.
