Aziz, Chairman of Iran’s Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said that Iran hopes to turn the geographical advantage of the Strait of Hormuz into leverage to enhance national strength through intelligent management. He revealed that the Strait of Hormuz management plan has reached a final conclusion within the committee, been submitted to the Iranian Parliament for review, and is awaiting final approval.

In addition, Iran has reportedly reopened the Strait of Hormuz, but passage is limited to countries considered friendly, including China, Russia, India, Iraq, and Pakistan. Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi confirmed that hostile countries will be barred from transiting through this key waterway.

In addition, Tehran charges transit fees for ships passing through, with up to 2 million dollars per voyage. Before transiting, vessels must also coordinate security measures with Iranian authorities.
