On the evening of May 13, 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing by private jet, officially beginning his state visit to China from May 13 to 15.
This visit is in response to an invitation from the Chinese head of state, marking Trump's first visit to China in his second term, and the first U.S. president to visit again after 9 years, since November 2017.
This is the second face-to-face communication between the Chinese and U.S. heads of state after their meeting in Busan in October 2025.
China stated that presidential diplomacy plays an irreplaceable strategic leading role in China-U.S. relations, and is willing to uphold the principles of equality, respect, and mutual benefit, to expand cooperation, manage differences, and inject stability into the world.
During the visit, the two leaders will exchange in-depth views on China-U.S. relations and major issues concerning global peace and development, covering topics such as trade and economics, technology, the Taiwan issue, and the Middle East situation.
The outside world expects this visit to promote steady and positive development of China-U.S. relations and to inject certainty into the complex international situation.
