Cursor Agent can now create dashboards: Canvas allows AI to output interactive interfaces from text.

Abstract generation in progress
ME News Report, April 16 (UTC+8), according to Beating Monitoring, Cursor 3.1 releases the Canvas feature. After completing a task, the Agent's output is no longer just code or markdown text; it can directly generate an interactive React interface that includes charts, tables, diff views, or custom logic. Canvas exists as a persistent artifact within the Agents Window, displayed alongside terminals, browsers, and version control. The core change is in information density. Taking incident response as an example: previously, the Agent would organize time-series data from Datadog, Databricks, and Sentry into markdown tables, which were hard to interpret and required additional visualization. Now, the Agent directly merges multi-source data into the same Canvas chart. The same applies to PR review: the Agent can group changes by importance, generate pseudocode for complex algorithms, rather than flattening all diffs. The Cursor team also uses Canvas in their Eval analysis. Previously, engineers had to review each request ID to identify failure patterns, even considering developing a separate web app, but ultimately they created a Skill within Cursor that reads all rollouts, categorizes failure reasons, and generates an interactive analysis interface. This workflow has helped the team significantly reduce troubleshooting time during two recent new model deployments. Canvas supports custom extensions: the Docs Canvas Skill published in the Cursor Marketplace allows the Agent to generate interactive architecture diagrams for any code repository. Users can also write their own Skills to define what types of Canvas the Agent should generate. (Source: BlockBeats)
