You know that name Charlotte Fang? If you've been in the NFT space for a minute, you've probably heard the drama. This guy's basically the face of Remilia Corporation, the studio that created Milady Maker – one of those NFT collections that just wouldn't die no matter what happened.
So here's the wild part. Charlotte Fang (real name Krishna Okhandiar) is this accelerationist theorist and avant-garde artist who basically became the leader of this whole NFT art empire. His journey has been absolutely chaotic. Back in 2021, he tried launching Yayo, a meme coin-style NFT series, but it flopped hard. So he went back to doing what he knows – making art. Then in August 2021, Charlotte Fang and his crew dropped Milady Maker: 10,000 cartoon NFTs on Ethereum with literally just one roadmap item: a Minecraft server. Sounds stupid, but it worked. The collection sold out and the floor price eventually hit 1.55 ETH by April 2022.
But then everything went sideways. May 2022 hit and an X account connected to Charlotte Fang started posting racist, homophobic, and white nationalist content. The community lost it. The floor tanked. Fang later claimed it was all "performance art" and that he never actually believed any of it – just apologized and moved on. Pretty controversial, but the Milady community kind of stuck with him anyway because, honestly, the whole thing had cult-like vibes.
Then Elon tweeted about Milady in May 2023 and everything exploded again. The collection bounced back harder than before, eventually becoming the third most expensive 10k PFP collection. By September 2023, Charlotte Fang actually sued three team members, which was wild, but again the community didn't really care. Fast forward to now and Milady is trading at 4.90 ETH floor price, one of the most active NFT collections out there.
But Charlotte Fang wasn't done. Earlier this month he and the team launched $CULT, a new meme coin tied to the whole Remilia ecosystem. The token had a massive launch with 10 billion total supply, the team taking 15% with an 18-month vesting, and 20-35% going to treasury. Milady and Redacted Remilio Babies holders got exclusive airdrops. Right now $CULT is sitting at basically nothing price-wise with a fully diluted market cap around $4.45M – way down from those early hype projections.
Look, Charlotte Fang's story is basically a masterclass in surviving scandals in crypto. The guy's been canceled, sued his own team, and somehow keeps building. Whether $CULT becomes the next big thing or another failed project, honestly nobody knows. But you gotta respect the hustle.
